CSG Law Announces Endowment of Scholarship at Rutgers Law School
Today Chiesa Shahinian & Giantomasi PC (CSG Law) has announced the endowment of a scholarship at Rutgers Law School in the amount of $50,000 to commemorate the firm’s 50th anniversary. Rutgers has also named its first endowed scholar, Gabriella Ferreira.
“This endowed scholarship demonstrates CSG’s strong and ongoing commitment to Rutgers Law School and our students, including first generation lawyers,” said Rose Cuison-Villazor, Co-Dean, Rutgers Law School. “More than 50% of our students are the first in their family to go to law school. This endowed scholarship provides an important pathway to the success of these students, for which we are grateful.”
“As a proud alum of Rutgers Law School, it is my great honor to announce this endowment,” said Patricia K. Costello, A.J.S.C. (ret.), Managing Member of CSG Law. “We have worked closely with the school for many years, and this formalizes our relationship.”
“Half of our attorneys were educated in New Jersey’s law schools,” said Jeffrey S. Chiesa, a Member of the Executive Committee of CSG Law. “Our hope is that these endowments will enable more students to pursue their passion for the law at these institutions.”
“Giving back is deeply engrained in the firm’s culture,” stated Francis J. Giantomasi, a Member of the Executive Committee of CSG Law. “Endowing scholarships at the state’s two schools honors our firm’s 50-year legacy, while also investing in the future.”
This marks the first of two endowments to be announced in celebration of the firm’s 50th year. The recipients of the endowment must be full-time students with outstanding academic records. Preference for the scholarships will be given to students who are first generation law students, have overcome socio-economic or educational hardship, and/or have demonstrated experience in or commitment to working with historically underserved communities.
